Before I started my wine study seriously just three years ago, I only really drank one type of wine, mostly red wines from Saint-Émilion. It was basically because I really didn't know what other options were out there, and I was intimidated like many others to talk with wine shop staff and sommeliers. I even believed videos like 'Expensive wine is for suckers' and ended up buying inexpensive wines. There are indeed some good inexpensive wines, but after a little study, you quickly realize that spending a few extra dollars can open up your palate to so many new wine experiences, and debunked the claims that 'expensive wine is for suckers.'
